Faith and Physics
A revolution is going on that far surpasses the material changes wrought by science in the development of atomic and hydrogen bombs. It is a revolution in fundamental relations of science and religion. The historic conflict between religion and science has driven scientists underground, rocked the foundations of churches, corrupted governments and sired interminable theological disputes. It has always come about because religion speculates about the universe, its beginning and its end, and this overlaps the domain of natural science. In many realms of thought, contradictions within religious expression are tolerated as honest differences of opinion. Such consideration is rarely applied to the conflict between science and religion.
