Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to formulate a conceptual framework that will be useful to everyone concerned with discussing the problem of health and health care. The concepts of health (good health and ill health) and health care are rarely studied from the standpoint of the attending physician and within the framework of ultimate actuality — that is, the ultimate, irreducible categories, or ‘existentials,’ of our experience.
