Abstract
A field trial was carried out with a new vaccine, developed on the basis of different inactivated virus species (bovine adenoviruses types 1, 3 and 5, reoviruses types 1 and 3, parainfluenza-3 virus).
After 4 consecutive vaccination campaigns (1972–1976) results from 70 043 vaccinated cattle were evaluated.
The vaccine was safe and efficient. A decrease of morbidity from 72% to 6.8% and of mortality from 5.1 to 1% was observed in vaccinated herds.
