A Special Approach in the Management of Re-Entry Tachycardias
In recent years programmed electrical stimulation of the heart and intracardiac recording techniques have demonstrated that a re-entry mechanism is the basis for many paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias and that the site of re-entry is commonly within the A V node (1 ). In patients who have re-entry tachycardias of this type it is usually possible to terminate the tachycardia by correctly timed single or double atrial or ventricular premature beats (2).
