Abstract
The introduction of advanced electronic devices and lithium power sources has continued to increase both the reliability and lifetime of pacemaker systems. This has led not only to their greater acceptance by the medical profession but also to their use for a wider variety of disorders, and as a result of this more and more physicians and medical technicians are entering this expanding branch of medicine.
