Part of the book series: Astrophysics and Space Science Library ((ASSL,volume 74))

Abstract

The work considers the basic theory of nonlinear wave pacticle interactions applied to the case of triggering of VLF emissions by Siple transmissions. Important aspects of the theory are underlined. Parameters for Siple triggered emissions are used and “quasi-static” generation regions are constructed. Siple results are found to fit the theory very well.
