Abstract
This incomplete survey has been established from three available sources of information:

In the United Kingdom several papers published in Veterinary Record or in the World Review of Animal Production, mostly British MLC and MMB data;
-
In the Netherlands, de Kruif’s studies;
-
In France, a lot of unpublished data, particularly a computer analysis by which performance in the Normandy area is processed.
