Changes in the Field of Transport Studies

Part of the book series: Developments in Transport Studies ((DITS,volume 1))

Abstract

In recent years travel-demand analysis has become a rather unrewarding affair. Although the mathematical sophistication of demand modeling has increased considerably, and although computers can now handle virtually unlimited amounts of data, the results have nevertheless lost a good deal of their credibility. Only studies at the micro-level seem to have a reasonable validity.
