Abstract
Kant approaches the traditional juxtaposition between Epicurus and the Stoa in two contexts — the first can be described as typological, the second as analytical and critical. The distinction between the two approaches is clear, but nevertheless the typological presentation has some bearing on the analytical and critical one. We will therefore start with the typology and move on to the critical analysis.
