Abstract

Carbohydrate malabsorption can arise from derangement of any part of the digestive or absorptive processes that have been described in the preceding paper by Harries and Muller. In practice it is mainly disorders of the mucosal phase of carbohydrate hydrolysis and transport that give rise to clinical disease.
