Neusiedlersee: The Limnology of a Shallow Lake in Central Europe

Abstract

Most of the data so far available concerning the occurrence of rotifers in Neusiedlersee result from observations made by Varga (1926, 1934) (see Chapter 22). The present author’s own investigations to be described in this chapter, have yielded considerable additional information on the faunistics and distribution of rotifers (Donner 1953, 1959, 1968, 1972, 1975). The collections so far made are listed in Tables 1 and 2 and comprise 163 taxa, including 23 bdelloids.
