Abstract

I come from what we call “a Project” in Latin America. This project really is the center of action in a region. It is the region of the Savanna and the whole area drains into the Orinoco river. It has a size of approximately 300.000 km2 and a population of only 20.000 people. Into the region there is a pressure from the mountains and from the populated areas of Colombia.

Gaviotas is spanish for Seagull. In english literature the Gaviotas-program is also known as “The Case of the Seagulls”.
