EPR Study of Oxygen Intermediates and their Role in Mechanism of CO Oxidation on the Surface of Cr/SiO2 Catalysts

Abstract

The formation of O, CO2 , O3 , CO4 and O2 anion radicals has been observed by the EPR method on the surface of the supported chromium-silica gel catalysts upon adsorption of O2 and CO. The mechanism of CO oxidation is proposed on the basis of EPR data and rates of catalytic oxidation and reduction of the catalysts.
