Electronic, Raman, and Resonance-Raman Spectroscopic Studies of Mixed-Valence Complexes

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((ASIC,volume 58))

Abstract

Resonance Raman spectroscopy is shown to be a strikingly effective technique with which to obtain information on the vibrational and electronic properties of class II and class III mixed-valence complexes and of the nature of the structural changes consequent upon the change by a molecule from the ground to the mixed-valence excited state.
