Summary
A series of separators was obtained by the polymerization “in situ” of 4-Vinylpyridine with Divinilbenzene directly over porous supports.
Another type of separators applicable in the electrolytic cells for hydrogen production, has been obtained by depositing copolymers of styrene type on the supports. These deposited copolymers have been sulphonated to make them hydrophilous and ion selective.
Depending on the quantity od copolymer deposited we obtained either diaphragms or membranes.
