Abstract

The logical and mathematical notation applied in this book will be standard, and the reader who is familiar with rudiments of set-theory, mathematical logic and elementary mathematics should find it intelligible without any explications. Still in this section we shall provide a short survey of symbols which will be in the most often use. The survey is by no means thought to be an exhaustive one. We merely wish to make a few preliminary remarks on the conventions to be followed.
