Abstract
Development of logic greatly contributed to establishing of a particular approach to mathematical theories applied in methodological studies. Under this approach mathematical theories are treated as idealized counterparts of certain branches of mathematics, describing certain idealized objects called models or realizations of theories. From the formal standpoint empirical theories or at least some of them do not differ from mathematical ones. Already for this single reason both the way of handling an object of inquiry and the means used in mathematical logic can be conveyed to all theories in general, and thus in particular to empirical disciplines. The methodology based on such an approach is called logical theory of science.
