Androgen-Progestin Combinations: Clinical Trials

  • Chapter
Regulation of Male Fertility

Part of the book series: Clinics in Andrology ((CLAN,volume 5))

Abstract

The aim of research into chemical male contraception is to find an agent or combination of agents that will induce infertility effectively, safely, cheaply, and reversibly. The search for such an agent first had to take into consideration the mode by which this aim could be accomplished; the next step was to be assured of the safety of using the agent in man; following this was the clinical trial in human volunteers.
