Abstract

This paper* deals with two separate but related issues in the grammar of the verbal system in Dutch:

  1. (1)

    formulating the rule of past participle prefix ge-deletion (section 3) from the point of view of the language learning child;

  2. (2)

    trying to incorporate a set of problematic verbs into the system of regular complex verbs (section 4).
