Abstract
There are many different statistics providing data on particular economic phenomena. They all, however, reflect the objectives for which they were drawn up and the conceptual distinctions underlying them. For this reason they do not lend themselves to forming a suitable impression of the economy as a whole. To this end economic phenomena need to be specially defined and classified.
