Pathology and clinical features
CONCUSSION This is a temporary self-limiting inhibition of cerebral function due to injury to the head. Although the individual is rendered immediately unconscious, steady improvement tends to take place from then on. A useful guide to the severity of concussion is the duration of the post-traumatic amnesia.
