Summary

In addition to the other well-known characteristic signs of a choroidal detachment (bifid echo visible in A mode and lateral location easily seen in B mode), another characteristic sign is described: the appearance of the angle of junction with the ocular wall.

A decrease of more than two thirds of the choroidal thickness after the image of a swelling indicates the choroidal nature of the latter, whereas a retinal detachment causes little change in the choroido-retinal thickness measured by echographic means.
