The white pupillary reflex called leukokoria can be caused by different diseases. Our foremost task is if leukokoria is present — to rule out, or demonstrate the presence of retinoblastoma. Since leukokoric eyes cannot be optically examined, echo-ophthalmography is the only method we can use for diagnosing it. (Isotope examination is generally contraindicated in the diagnostics of children).
