Abstract
The observable properties P, M, L, R, and Te of the Mira variables are related by three theoretical constraints:
from local fits to evolutionary tracks for AGB evolution of low mass starts and
from pulsation models. A fourth theoretical canstraint is
where vO is the outward post-shock velocity in the lower atmosphere and ve = escape velocity (Hill and Willson 1979; Willson 1979). Since vO is nearly the same for most Miras (Willson 1979; Wwallerstein 1979) we can solve (1)–(4) to find log
