Abstract

There are two dimensions to Sellars’ theory of justification. First, there is the vindication of the inductive policies, the subject of Chapter III. While vindication is a weak method of justification, it is supplemented by the explanationist principle of justification: a theory is justifiable if it provides explanations, Chapter IV.
