Abstract
The method of calculation to find the complex wavenumbers at the resonance of virtual modes is presented for a shallow water (100m depth) and a low frequency (100Hz) in a Pekeris model. The propagation loss of the virtual modes in water is calculated by using the imaginary part of the wavenumbers. This result is compared with the propagation loss evaluated by the method of C.T. Tindle.
