Events in the Void

Part of the Synthese Library book series (SYLI, volume 150)

In this and the following chapters I shall examine the two classes of rational Sorts (which I shall from now on generally abbreviate as RSs) which seem to lend themselves most readily to correlation. These are the family Dl, which I have argued must be correlated with entities directly observable, and the initial Sorts of each family, which in Section 8.G I suggested should have some relation to spatial coordinates. Together, they lead us to a general picture of what we may call the ‘shape of the universe’ and some indication of the ‘nature of its contents’. But the present chapter will take us only half way to such a description.
