Abstract

The growth of a plant body is a result of reproduction, enlargement and differentiation of cells. Although cell enlargement and differentiation are partly independent of cell division, nevertheless, they soon stop if there is no supply of new cells by the mitotic cycles. Thus, if we want to regulate the growth of plants, we should know how to regulate the mitotic cycle.
