Part of the book series: Developments in Plant and Soil Sciences ((DPSS,volume 4))

Abstract

The concept of different enzyme phenotypes in particular cells or cell complexes resulting from spatio-temporal regulation of gene activity led to a highly fruitful approach in studies on animal embryogenesis and development [8], whereas its application to plant studies is so far very limited. It is the aim of the present paper to describe a screening of localization of various glycosidases in root tips of several elected species. Attempts will be made also to evaluate the results on the basis of histogenesis.
