Abstract
Some data on the ultrastructure of barley root tissues has been published earlier [3,4]. This paper presents the results of an electron microscopic study of endodermis and xylem elements at successive levels in barley root. Based on the external features of the differentiation 6 zones can be recognized in the root. Ultrastructural characteristics of endodermis and xylem elements along the zones are as follows.
