Abstract
There is no reason, logically speaking, that second-trimester abortion should not join bubonic plague and poliomyelitis as practically historic medical conditions. At this very moment, sufficient contraceptive technology is available so that by 1989 it should not be necessary to re-examine a second decade of second-trimester abortion experience.
