Abstract
There is increasing acceptance that immunological mechanisms are implicated in the pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease [CD]. This is particularly concluded from clinical observations and from findings indicating changes of the systemic immune apparatus and of the gut-associated lymphoid system. Therefore, the local immune response is of interest.
