Abstract
The idea of creating IAPH was revealed for the first time at the International Conference of Ports and Harbours held on October 1952 in Koti, Japan. The proposal was supported by many national associations of ports and harbours as well as by ICC, PIANC, ICHCA and others. The Association was established at the Second International Conference of Ports and Harbours (Los Angeles, November 1955).
