Abstract

Grinding is the fine phase of comminution or size reduction. In the coarse stage, that is, crushing, particles of mm-cm size are produced. the operation embraces two orders of magnitude. Grinding, in terms of equipment or product size, cannot be sharply distinguished from crushing; grinding produces particles of the micron-mm size embracing four orders of magnitude. Obviously processes of grinding are more complicated.
