Abstract

In this chapter the principal methods of investigation of the kidney will be discussed. The indications, contraindications and limitations of the various procedures will be described and, where relevant, the normal anatomy will be outlined. Detailed descriptions of the techniques of individual examinations will not be described as these can be found in any standard text book. However, practical points of clinical significance will be illustrated.
