Abstract

The postoperative management of patients following cardiac surgery is unsatisfactory without a first-class recovery team. The skills of the nursing staff looking after the patients should include knowledge of the technical aspects of the equipment in use in addition to nursing care. Nurses working in such a unit should be highly trained in this speciality, in order to portray and uphold a cool, calm and effective outlook in all situations — come what may!!!
