Rutland Water Nature Reserve: concept, design and management
This paper illustrates how practical conservation management has helped to create a nature reserve of international importance for wildfowl. The development of existing and introduced habitats has produced a wide diversity of fauna and flora without causing an unnatural ecological balance and close liaison with other reservoir users has established zoning areas free from disturbance resulting in both man and birds benefiting from such agreements.
