The Analysis of Nitrogen and Humus in Connection with a Field Test for the Fertilization with Straw and Sewage Sludge

The Influence of Sewage Sludge Application on Physical and Biological Properties of Soils

Abstract

Recycling of sewage sludge on agricultural lands seems an inevitable part of waste disposal. It is reported to 1.) be a good fertilizer (Lunt, 1959; Hinesly et al., 1972 and Sommer, 1977), 2.) improve soil aggregation (Epstein, 1975), 3.) act as soil conditioner both physically and chemically (Hinesly et al. 1972; Epstein, 1975; Epstein et al., 1976 and Ming-hung Wong, 1979) and 4.) provide needed organic matter to the soil.
