Abstract
Only a small part of the norwegian sludge is biologically stabilized. When we apply undigested sludge to the soil a very quick decomposition will take place in the soil. We can talk about “soil stabilization”. The microbial activity will also depend on the amount of sludge applied. Lime stabilized sludge is not biologically stabilized either and will have nearly the same effects in the soil as raw sludge.
