Summary

The reported work relates to solar walls with steel tiles covered by a layer of spectral selective enamel.
  • We have started to study the problems involved in fixing the tiles on a concrete or metal wall in order to obtain:
    • good mechanical behaviour of the bonding under thermal cycling

    • good transfer of the solar heat to the wall.

  • We have designed a test bench for a 0,25 m2 element exposed to a sun simulator.

  • We shall build and test solar wall elements covered with selective tiles:
    • a 0,25 m2 element on a test bench exposed to a sun simulator

    • a 1 m2 element set on an experimental house.
