Creep Strengthening Mechanisms

  • Valentino Lupinc

Abstract

In the choise of the materials for the most crytical high temening mechanisms in superalloys. Solid solution-, particle-, and dislocation-strengthening are considered in dislocation creep. σ concept is discussed and σ data of superalloys reported. Diffusional creep and grain boundary sliding are also examined.

Intricate “real life” alloys are then discussed taking into account simultaneous mechanisms, distributed parameters, and structural instability effects.
