Abstract
In connection with questions concerning generation extension planning a model for extension optimization of power systems was established in 1973. Thereby the particular situation of Austria characterized by a high hydro proportion had to be taken into account. The model shall serve two purposes: first adequate additions of hydro and thermal power plants shall be determined and second design problems, such as reservoir volumes for pondage and annual storage power plants.
