Dans cette présentation bibliographique, l’auteur envisage le Soleil du point de vue de Sirius, en quelque sorte…: 1. Le rayon du Soleil. Déterminations astrométriques. Le Soleil est-il aplati? Recherches et perspectives nouvelles. 2. La masse du Soleil, selon les déterminations les plus récentes. Perte de masse séculaire du Soleil. 3. La luminosité du Soleil, et la “constante solaire”. Ses variations rapides et séculaires. Température effective. 4. Composition chimique du Soleil. Rôle de la diffusion; les inhomogénéités de composition. Une conclusion, aussi philosophique qu’astronomique, tentera de restituer les recherches solaires dans l’éventail des disciplines de l’astronomie, comme l’un des centres majeurs de l’interdisciplinarité.
