Abstract

It is well established that water-ice occurs in the surface materials of Mars and that temperature regimes are such that icerich permafrost may be present in many localities. Water-ice is also thought to be a major constituent of the surface materials on Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, and several of the moons of Saturn.
