En reconnaissance de son exceptionnelle contribution de pionier à la Géodynamique d’observation, le Colloque UAI N°63 recommende au Groupe de travail sur la rotation de la Terre de l’Union Astronomique Internationale et de l’Union de Géodésie et de Géophysique Internationale, que soit dédiée la prochaine campagne MERIT (1983–1984) à la mémoire de Seth Carlo Chandler.

Abstract

In recognition of his extraordinary and pioneering contributions to observational geodynamics, IAU Collquium N°63 recommends to the International Astronomical Union / International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics Joint Working Group on the Rotation of the Earth that it dedicate the MERIT main campaign of 1983–1984 to the remembrance of the life and works of Seth Carlo Chandler.
