Abstract
The model discussed in this paper arose as a result of research in the history of chemistry. As such it is a construction built a posteriori on the basis of facts. However, it will be first presented in an a priori manner from the point of view of principles of construction formulated in the past by dialectical philosophy. From the point of view of these principles only the development of views of the chemical organization of matter considered as having two aspects — empirical and theoretical — will be discussed.
