Abstract
Claims are to be found in the literature, that spermatogenesis continues into old age. The begetting of children by men who are over the age of 65 is authentic and verified in specific cases, but the question regarding the fertility of man during senescence seldom arises. Clinically relevant problems are rarely encountered, and therefore the investigation of spermatogenesis in man during senescence is oriented toward the aging process in the germinal epithelium and in the germ cells. We have examined the condition of the tissue, and the morphology of cells arising from a pool of constantly proliferating stem cells.
