Fracture of Composite Materials

Abstract

The volume fraction of microcracks plays an essential role in the fracture process of heterogeneous materials. The breaking of a material to separate pieces initiates from the creation of microcracks, their enlargement and coalescence to the formation of macrocracks [1].
