Abstract
Cost recovery analysis in the long distance coach industry is plagued by the usual difficulty of attribution of costs. This difficulty is magnified by the fact that the industry is operated by private companies who, because of their competitive position, guard their information jealously. The major operators offer a range of services including regular route operations, (both inter and intrastate) charter services, package tour holidays and in some cases local route services.
