Abstract
Today we will consider studies defining the host population in those ways which seem most likely to help us understand why only a percentage of the populations at risk actually develop IBD. We want to know its genetics, its geographical distribution, its dietary background, its sociocultural experience, its health record prior to contracting IBD, its drug-taking history, and its risks of having certain complications.
